I'm Olwyn, An Expert in Paint Colours.
Recently I went back to visit one of my clients; I had helped them previously with the paint colours for their single story extension, and all of the rooms on the ground floor. They were now ready to refresh the colours of the upstairs and she wrote to me saying “after your wonderful advice, I can’t possibly go ahead without your help to choose the colours!”

During the course of this second visit my client revealed that her husband had been less than keen to book me initially “why on earth do we need someone to choose paint colours?” However, he was completely on board with me to come back for the second visit; in their family I am known as “The Paint Lady”. My client also said that I was the best money she spent in the whole renovation, and the only thing that went right.

This sums up the two main pieces of feedback I get. Firstly, that my clients feel my service is good value for money and they make colour choices that they would not have been able to make if I had not helped them. And secondly, that someone who is initially sceptical of why they should spend money on something they feel they could do themselves is completely won over by the end of the process.

Olwyn's help with choosing colours has transformed the upstairs of our house. She spent a morning with me amid a (rather stressful) loft conversion to advise colours for four bedrooms and the hall/stairs/landing.
Using our fabric swatches and taking on board the various preferences for the children's rooms, she guided us through different colours that I would never have considered.
Each room is different but the whole scheme works together, so when the doors of the rooms are open, each colour complements the others around it.

We recently undertook a kitchen refurb, repainting the cupboards and retiling splash backs, alongside keeping existing wall colour and flooring. I was struggling to visualise how it would all hang together so I contacted Olwyn for her help with paint choices. She was so helpful in going through all the colour options that would work with what we already had, and explaining why others wouldn’t work so well, and helping us to think outside our comfort zone too! Appointing Olwyn to help pick the paint colours for my house was the best decision I made in my refurbishment. She chose colours that I would have gone for if I knew what I was doing, as well as encouraging some design features I would never have considered, such as painting a ceiling the same colour as the walls. Every room is different, but all of the colours work perfectly for the function of the room and the light conditions throughout the day. The cost of repainting just one room to correct for the errors I would have inevitably made would have been far more than her fees so she really is excellent value for money"

Olwyn helped me choose colour for my newly renovated house - from top to bottom. She went out of her way to come on site at short notice (& up ladders!) and helped me choose colours that matched my tiles, my overall vision and worked to find a really cohesive scheme through the house. She also helped me be really brave (with my F&B Railings skirtings!) and work through the detail of transition points. Olwyn has been a huge help in choosing colours for a number of rooms in my house. She spent time finding out about my ideas and then developed a colour palate that worked throughout the house. Certainly some of her colour choices were far more interesting than mine!
The report we received afterwards was so informative and our painter loved the detailed instructions. The colour swatches are a great idea to work with. We’ve gone with all Olwyn’s colour suggestions and not needed a single tester pot!

Olwyn was fantastic in that she came to the building site when the project was not yet completed and talked to us about what we wanted to achieve. What's not to love!
Nobody needs 15 tester paint pots and the associated splodges on the wall. Olwyn comes in and gives you the confidence to paint your rooms in colours that you'll love but that also work with the natural light the room has and the furniture that is in the room. Life changing - well worth the money. Finally choosing paint is enjoyable!
